Braxfield Recruitment are a leading recruitment agency working within the social housing sector. We have been appointed by a G15 housing provider based in Croydon who are currently looking to recruit an interim Service Charge and Section 20 Assistant.
Duties as a Service Charge & Section 20 Assistant will include:
- Liaising with other teams to ensure S20 notices and observations are issued on time and that accurate information is received and dispatched in a timely manner.
- Assisting in accurately calculating resident’s contribution towards major works cost, issuing of invoices to residents for major works and the issuing of Section 20b notices ensuring leaseholders are kept informed of all costs accrued to date, to enable full collection of costs.
- Logging responses from residents to Section 20 consultation letters and allocating to appropriate Officers for action.
- Collating responses to pre-assignment enquiries requests from the Purchase & Disposal teams.
- Assisting in the management of disputes relating to the payment of service charges preparing case bundles for First Tier Tribunals.
- Creating new Owner Accounts, sub accounts and all related administration of such accounts.
- Logging demands etc. from 3rd Party landlords and allocate to appropriate Service Charge Officer for action. Maintaining an up to date list of all managing agents.
- Logging and allocating all incoming correspondence to appropriate Service Charge Officers for action.
To be considered for the position of Service Charge & Section 20 Assistant you must have the following:
- Knowledge and/or experience of Service Charge legislation would be desirable, including Landlords and Tenant Act 1985, Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002, Service Charge (Consultation Requirements) (England) Regulations 2003)
- Knowledge of computerised Housing Management and Financial Accounting Systems would be desirable
- Ability to work well in high pressured environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communications skills (verbal & written).
- Good level of IT proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel and Outlook)
