Braxfield Recruitment are a leading recruitment agency working within the social housing sector. We have been appointed by a housing provider based in Haywards Heath who are looking for an interim Lettings Officer.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing homes as they become avaliable until they are successfully let. You will minimise the time a property remains empty by ensuring it is let as quickly as possible, whilst providing a good quality service to customers.
Other duties as a Lettings Officer will include:
- Managing the process of shortlisting and arranging viewing efficiently and effectively.
- Preparing tenancy agreements and arranging for sign up of applicants, including in-notice viewings with the current tenant.
- Managing the end of the tenancy process once a customer notice is received or a property has been repossessed and attempt to retain tenants that have maintained their tenancy well.
- Liaising with the neighbourhood teams, repairs team, contractors and development to ensure that properties are ready to let, let quickly and within target timescales.
- Advertising properties directly or via local authority.
- Liaising closely with local authorities to ensure that avaliable homes are offered to those most in need.
- Working with the neighbourhood teams and asset management to identify properties and areas that are becoming hard-to-let and contribute towards solutions.
- Providing housing options advise to customers who are reaching their end of their existing fixed term tenancy.
To be considered for the role of Lettings Officer you must have the following:
- Previous experience as a Letting Officer / Avaliable Homes Officer.
- Knowledge of Choice Based Lettings system, Allocations and the use of Local Lettings plans.
- Knowledge of housing legislation, regulation, best practice and current issues relevant to the post.
- An understanding of the social housing environment.
Contract type: Interim (3 months +)
Hourly rate: £15.87 - £19.59 p/h
