- Braxfield Recruitment are a leading recruitment agency working within the property management and social housing sectors. We are working with a leading G15 Housing Association that are looking to appoint a team of interim Planned Works Surveyors to help manage the fire safety works programme.
The Planned Works Surveyors will be responsible for the management of active and passive fire safety works programmes that have arisen from actions identified through fire risk assessments carried out by consulting partners. Work streams will include but will not be limited to the installation of all passive and active fire protection equipment such as domestic & communal fire door sets, fire stopping and compartmentation, sprinkler, fire alarm, AOV, signage and cyclical decs, overseeing all of these from inception to final accounts.
The Planned Works Surveyors will need to arrange and chair formal monthly contract management meetings with each contractor, monitoring progress of the monthly plan by intervening and escalating as needed and producing updates, providing performance reports on contractors against specification and KPI’s, intervening where performance dips, initiating improvement where performance requires it, and recording improvement action and expected results. They will also need to ensure that the service delivered is fully compliant with the specification and contract
The Planned Works Surveyors will need to communicate performance and improvement in the service across the organisation and for external audiences by verifying the weekly performance report from each contractor. Also identifying good practice and discuss knowledge sharing opportunities with contractors, in addition initiating joint discussions on service improvement and training between staff and contractors.
The Planned Works Surveyors must verify contractor spend against budget and initiate corrective action where an under or overspend may emerge, then authorise payment for work where due. Review high cost /high use properties and manage approaches to bring them into acceptable parameters.
