Braxfield Recruitment are working with a G15 Housing Association in Middlesex who are looking for an Electrical Project Manager to join the M&E department on a permanent contract.
The Electrical Project Manager will undertake the contract management of electrical services and installations including electric heating, electric testing and inspection, lifts, controlled entry/CCTV, communications equipment, ventilation, fire-fighting equipment and lighting conductors. They will be responsible for undertaking the management and delivery of the electrical, maintenance and stock investment contracts throughout the housing association for all housing, associated land/buildings and in respect of corporate buildings.
The Electrical Project Manager will work with contractor and consultant partners, colleagues and residents across the full range of resident services, to ensure that customer involvement and resident satisfaction is at the core of the decision making process and delivery of these services. They will also ensure that the electrical services within the housing association’s housing stock are installed, serviced and maintained to a standard and quality required by policy and regulatory requirements.
As part of the role the Electrical Project Manager will use their technical expertise to inspect, specify and analyse repairs required to a range of electrical defects, both domestic and commercial/industrial (including major defects), aiming to carry out cost-effective repairs with the minimum disruption to service delivery. This will include the production and presentation of detailed technical specifications and reports. They will also be required to provide technical support in disrepair cases, ensuring that repairs are carried out on time and in line with agreed standards, whilst monitoring and checking repairs and maintenance work to ensure that they are completed to the required standard within agreed timescales and to the satisfaction of the residents and relevant Environment and Housing Management staff.
The Electrical Project Manager will be required to have a relevant degree level qualification in Electrical or Mechanical services or equivalent experience.
Knowledge and Skills Required
A thorough understanding of the IEE Wiring regulations
A thorough understanding of the Mechanical & Electrical regulations
Able to assess emergency procedures and contingency plans for managing the response to electrical and mechanical incidents
High level of knowledge of housing, housing law and the regulatory framework
Knowledge of contract procurement and leasehold consultation requirements
Experience of developing and implementing complex strategies to meet business needs
Able to represent the organisation externally at an appropriate level with key stakeholders such as local authorities, partner agencies and residents groups
Ability to lead effective project teams delivering cross functional outcomes
High level analytical skill and an ability to deliver creative solutions and information in a diverse environment
