Are you an experienced Decisions Manager looking for a new role? Do you have proven experience in dealing with planning appeals including public inquiries?
Braxfield Recruitment are a leading recruitment agency working within the social housing sector. We have been appointed by a housing provider based in North London who are looking to recruit an experienced Decisions Manager on an interim contract.
The successful candidate will be responsible for acting as lead officer in multi-disciplinary and cross functional development teams bringing forward major development schemes on behalf of the council and external applicants ensuring seamless approach and delivery of projects to agreed deadlines.
You will lead on negotiations with other Council Services regarding their development proposals and planning issues including dealing with negotiations at a high level within the Council.
Other duties as a Decisions Manager will include:
- Managing and motivating a planning application team created in association with a specific area and / or site specific planning and regeneration projects or programmes and ensuring compliance with performance targets and customer service standards.
- Acting as the lead officer for the management, delivery and processing and coordination of specific major strategic applications and / or projects and the associated planning performance agreements.
- Coordinating the management and implementation of planning performance agreements across the development management function and maximising income generation with the objective of achieving cost recovery.
- Managing S106 agreements and associated process to maximise the number of agreements closed within agreed timescales.
To be considered for the position of Decisions Manager you must have the following:
- Demonstrable ability to draw upon previous experience and a sound understanding of planning knowledge and emerging trends in all planning matters and casework.
- Minimum 5 years relevant and recent post qualification experience in a similar working environment.
- Experience of dealing with more complex planning applications within a local authority or private sector environment together with an ability to carry a complex workload and produce complex reports and appeal statements.
- Proven experience in dealing with planning appeals including public inquiries.
- A planning or land use related degree and/or planning diploma, or an equivalent environment related discipline.
