The building surveyor will enjoy managing a variety of different projects including the running of cyclical programmes such as communal and exterior painting together with window and door replacement programmes and large roofing repair and replacement schemes.

Our client requires someone with prior experience of running cyclical and/or other major programmes specifically in the social housing arena either client or contractor side. They are also keen to explore the role with individuals who are seriously considering studying for their APC or part way through this. They are able to support the post holder with time off for studying and by giving access to chartered surveyors and appointing an APC councellor or supervisor.

Are you an experienced repairs inspector looking for a new role? Do you have experience working in the housing sector?

Braxfield Recruitment are a leading recruitment agency working within the social housing sector. We have been appointed by a housing provider based in North West London who are currently looking to recruit an experienced repairs inspector on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a maintenance service to buildings in a way that is customer focused and offers value for money. You will provide technical expertise and advise to the business and customers on all aspects of building maintenance supporting the successful delivery of their contracts.

As a repairs inspector you will be responsible for the following:

  • Ensuring the repairs contract is supported by diagnosing defects, preparing accurate specifications from schedules of rates and post inspecting work ordered and managed by other members of the team.

  • Carrying out technical assessments of variations requested by the contractor to ensure costs are appropriate and the correct solution to building defects is used first time.

  • Supporting the Building Surveyor by inspecting works on sites when programmes of works are completed and visiting people’s homes.

  • Supporting the lettings team in maximising rental yield of void properties by quickly assessing and responding on defects and technical recommendations from the contractor on voids.

  • Carrying out inspection to estates and blocks and specifying and raising repairs on occupied and void properties.

  • Liaising with residents at their properties and assisting with any queries they may have.

To be considered for the role of repairs inspector you must have the following:

  • At least 2 year experience as a repairs inspector working in the housing sector.

  • HNC in building studies or equivalent trade or have extensive relevant experience in the field.

  • Knowledge of contract management.

  • Experience of managing the delivery of responsive repairs in residential properties.

  • Working knowledge of Schedule of Rates and other methods of measurement.

  • Experience of working in a customer focused role in a similar environment.

Are you an experienced Maintenance Surveyor looking for a new role? Do you have experience of working in the housing sector?

Braxfield Recruitment are a leading recruitment agency working within the Property Services sectors. We have been appointed by a G15 housing provider based in Kent who are currently looking to recruit a Maintenance Surveyor on a permanent basis.

 The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a responsive repair and void surveying service across Sittingbourne.

Maintenance Surveyor duties will include:

  • Analysing and assessing building defects, providing remedial proposals and preparing specification for remedial repairs.

  • Ensuring work carried out is within budget and value for money is achieved, by monitoring and reporting on contractor performance.

  • Carrying out post inspections and quality control checks on works.

  • Carrying out condensation, rising and penetrating damp surveys and specifying remedial measures, including resident’s advice and support.

  • Managing the annual damp programme, overseeing the contractor and monitoring performance against budget to ensure value for money is achieved.

  • Handling and responding to customer complaints.

 

To be considered for the position of Maintenance Surveyor you must have the following:

  • At least 2 years’ experience as a building surveyor in a maintenance environment carrying out pre and post inspections.

  • Experience of working with contractors using SOR and non-SOR contracts.

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).

  • Ability to produce detailed specifications of work.

Braxfield Recruitment are working with a Local Authority in West London who are looking for a surveyor to carry out post inspections to repair works undertaken by the contractor. Braxfield Recruitment are a leading recruitment agency working within the property management sectors.

You will be working within a large team to ensure that repairs carried out by the partnering contractors have been completed to the required standards in line with SLA's, encouraging them to improve quality as and when required. The role may also require the post holder to undertake disabled adaptation surveys, working with the occupational health team to ensure that residents are being provided with the aids and adaptations they require to help them live comfortably within their home.

Ideally you will have a background in social housing and experience of carrying out quality inspections and aids and adaption surveys, managing contractors to ensure that the service is continually maintained and / or improved.

As a maintenance surveyor, you will be working within the team to ensure that repairs carried out by the partnering contractor are being completed to the required standards and in line with SLA's. The maintenance surveyor will be required to visit tenanted and void properties to specify the works required and raise the repair request, returning to post inspect the works where necessary.

For this role, access to your own vehicle will be required as although it is based in South London, there will be the need to travel to properties in north London two days a week.

Ideally you will have a background in social housing and experience of carrying out quality inspections and managing contractors to ensure that the service is continually maintained and / or improved. 

As our client is a housing association the appointed maintenance surveyor will be able to work outside of IR35 if preferred.

Braxfield Recruitment are a leading recruitment agency working within the property management sectors. We have been appointed by a housing association that are looking for an Interim M&E Inspector with an electrical bias to join them.

They have a programme of works to upgrade and / or replace fire alarm systems, AOV’s, emergency lighting, sprinkler & dry risers and connected door entry systems.

The role of the M&E inspector will be to travel between sites quality controlling the work carried out by specialist contractors ensuring that it is being undertaken in line with the specification and within the agreed timeframe. The electrical inspector will work with the contractors to ensure value for money and agree any interim and final payments together with any requested variations.

It is essential that the M&E Inspector has prior experience of managing similar projects on residential properties whether client side with a housing association / council or working with a contractor or consultancy.

Relevant electrical qualifications will be required together with a good working knowledge around fire protection systems.

As our client is a private sector organisation the appointed M&E Inspector will be able to work outside of IR35 if preferred.
